Woodbridge Veteran's Day Parade Is This Sunday

The parade steps off from Ross Street Elementary School at 1:30 p.m. and will march down Main Street to town hall.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — The Woodbridge Veteran’s Day Parade will be this Sunday, Nov. 13 and all are invited to come watch on Main Street. Veterans and active-duty military personnel, police, fire and EMS and many Woodbridge community organizations will be marching.

The parade steps off from Ross Street Elementary School at 1:30 p.m.

“Woodbridge Township veterans and military personnel will march to Town Hall where they will be honored for their service to our Township, state and nation,” said Mayor John McCormac. “It is a great privilege to recognize our veterans and to let them know that we appreciate their sacrifice in the defense of our freedom and for their service to our nation in times of emergency and disaster.”

Here is who will be marching:

  • Woodbridge Township public service and emergency response units
  • Woodbridge/Carteret Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts/Cub Scouts
  • The Woodbridge, Colonia and JFK High School marching bands
  • Youth, civic and historic organizations
  • Hundreds of Woodbridge Township residents and visitors plus veterans and active-duty military personnel from all branches of service

There will also be the following American flag raisings and services throughout the day Friday:

Iselin VFW Memorial Post #2636 will host a Veterans Day ceremony at 11:00 a.m. at the VFW Monument located outside Post Headquarters on Auth Avenue in Iselin.

Fords VFW Memorial Post #6090 will conduct a Veterans Day and Flag-Raising service at 11:00 a.m. at the Fords War Memorial Monument located at King George Road and Corrielle Street in Fords.

Avenel VFW Memorial Post #7164 will conduct Veterans Day ceremonies at 11:00 a.m. at the Post Headquarters located at 60 West Park Avenue, Avenel.

Colonia VFW Post #6061 will host an 11:00 a.m. Veterans Day Service at the Post Headquarters located at 606 Inman Avenue in Colonia.
