Woodbridge's 9/11 Ceremony Will Be Sept. 10

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — This year will mark the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and this year, Woodbridge Township will hold its annual memorial service on September 10.

The memorial service will be held on the stage at the concert field behind Woodbridge High School. It will begin at 6 p.m. Sept. 10 with an annual salute to Woodbridge's first responder community.

The evening will be led by Woodbridge's Interfaith Clergy Council. All are welcome to attend and mark the solemn occasion.

On Sept. 11, 2001 nine Woobridge residents were killed in the World Trade Center attacks. They are: Edward Allegretto, Marilyn Bautista, Patrick Dunn, John Adam Larson, James Lynch, Charles Mauro, Tonyell McDay, Narender Nath and Sankara Velamuri.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued this alert Friday, warning Americans that because this year will be the 20th anniversary of 9/11, there is a higher likelihood of extremist attacks. There are also religious holidays that fall this year close to Sept. 11, increasing the chances of an attack.
