Your Woodbridge Assemblyman Supports Bernie Sanders
Think every Democrat in New Jersey has thrown their support behind Hillary Clinton? Not your local assemblyman.

Woodbridge, NJ - Think every Democrat in New Jersey has thrown their support behind Hillary Clinton?
Not your own state assemblyman.
State Assemblyman John Wisnieswki, who represents the 19th legislative district, announced this week he is supporting U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders for president, and will in fact serve as the New Jersey chair of Sanders’ campaign. Wisniewski represents these Middlesex County towns: Carteret, Perth Amboy, Sayreville, South Amboy and Woodbridge Township. That’s Wisniewski, left, with the Vermont senator.

“Here in New Jersey I believe that the appetite for a new kind of politics is particularly palpable,” Wisnieswki, a Sayreville resident, said on his website. “The Bridgegate scandal is a crystal clear example of what can happen when people in power forget why they were put there in the first place -- to serve the public, not their own selfish and irresponsible interests.”
Wisniewski, the former chair of the New Jersey Democratic Party, is a leading Democrat in the state who led the investigation into Gov. Chris Christie’s Bridgegate scandal. His somewhat surprising Bernie announcement increases the likelihood that Wisnieswki is gearing up for his own attempt at higher office: He’s been mentioned as a contender to run for New Jersey governor.

“The working family, the middle-class taxpayer, the public school student, the senior citizen and the young person trying to pay for college continue to be the victim of our state and nation’s political culture,” Wisniewski said online. ”I believe that the Sanders campaign represents a chance to finally break free from this legacy of insider dealing and corruption.”
