17th Annual Declaration of Independence Reading & July 4th Celebration
Join Ringwood Manor in celebrating this historic holiday with an 18th century reenactment of the event!

Looking for something fun and educational to do with the family
on Independence Day this year? Come to Ringwood Manor for the annual Declaration of Independence celebration!
The annual 4th of July event at Ringwood Manor features a dramatic delivery of the Declaration of Independence by a horse and rider to the steps of the Manor’s porch. The document is then read aloud to the gathered crowd. Colonial activities and demonstrations help create the sense of a town square and add to the celebration of the 240th anniversary of American independence. The Declaration will be delivered and read at 2:30pm. Colonial reenactors, crafters, 18th century dancing, food, games, and more will be available to the public. Free watermelon for visitors! A fun event for the whole family!
There is no charge for the Independence Day celebration. There is, however, a parking fee to enter Ringwood State Park of $5 for in-state residents, and $7 for out-of-state residents. The event will take place rain or shine. Ringwood Manor will be available to the public to visit between 10am to 1:30pm only in order to allow for the ceremony and celebration to proceed as scheduled. Tickets to enter Ringwood Manor are $3 for adults, $1 for children ages 6-12, and children 5 and under are free.
