21 Fatal Motor Vehicle Crashes Have Occurred In Bergen County This Year — Here's Where They Happened

23 people, including 9 pedestrians, died in the crashes, according to the New Jersey State Police.

Twenty-three people have been killed in 21 fatal motor vehicle crashes in Bergen County as of Tuesday.

Of the 23 people killed, nine have been pedestrians and two passengers, information from the State Police's Fatal Accident Investigation Unit shows.

The 23 fatalities rank Bergen as the ninth deadliest county in the state. Middlexsex has had the most fatalities with 35. Monmouth and Essex counties are next with 34 each. Sussex has had the least with eight.

Of the 420 people killed in 398 fatal New Jersey crashes so far this year, 108 have been pedestrians, 240 drivers, and 63 passengers.

At this time last year, 383 people were killed in 357 fatal crashes in New Jersey.
