3K Without Power In Wyckoff, May Not Get It Back Until Friday

65 percent of Orange & Rockland customers in town are without power. Warming/cell phone charging centers have been set up in town.

WYCKOFF, NJ — More than 3,300 residents are without power following a late-season nor'easter that blanketed Bergen County with snow Wednesday.

The 2,800 Orange & Rockland customers without power are about 65 percent of the people who get it from the company.

Nearly all of those customers are projected to get power back Friday, the utility reported.

More than 600 PSE&G customers are without power. Restoration estimates were similar for those customers.

The prior is to restore power to the critical care facilities, municipal offices and sewage pumping stations.

Warming and cell phone charging centers have been set up at Town Hall, 340 Franklin Ave., in the second floor courtroom and at Christian Health Care Center on Theresa Bushman Drive off of Mountain Avenue in the Commons Building.

The centers will be open today until 6 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Garbage will be picked up on its regular schedule when roads are passable, officials sad.

Residents are urged to stay off the roads and to check on their neighbors.
