A resident saw two suspicious vehicles outside his house and a man approach a vehicle in his driveway: Police.

WYCKOFF, NJ — Five men were arrested after a resident saw someone approach his vehicle in his driveway early Thursday morning, police said.

The resident called 911 to report two suspicious occupied vehicles in front of his home and that one of the occupants walked up his driveway towards one of his vehicles, said Lt. Joseph Soto.

The man confronted the trespasser, who went back to the vehicles, which fled the area, Soto said.

The vehicles were an older Buick LeSabre and a Chevrolet Corvette. Sgt. Michael Demaio saw the Buick leave the area and stopped it. Officer Kenneth Marcoux saw the Corvette speed away recklessly and chose not to pursue it, Soto said.

About 10 minutes after Marcoux saw the Corvette, it was stopped by the Port Authority Police Department at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City, Soto said. The car was reported stolen from a Ringwood residence earlier that night, he said; Bronson was driving the Corvette.

All the men were charged with theft, burglary to auto, possession of burglary tools and two counts each of receiving stolen property and possession of marijuana under 50 grams.
