7 Charged In Abma's Farm Break-In, Wyckoff Police Announce

Seven people were charged in the break-in, which involved at least one teenager photographed riding the farm's miniature donkeys.

WYCKOFF, NJ — After posting video and photos of themselves to social media riding the animals at Abma's Farm, seven people have been officially charged this week.

If you'll remember, a group of area teenagers posted video to various social media platforms, specifically a photo of one teenager riding one of the farm's miniature donkeys.

These images were circulated widely on social media, and even Gov. Phil Murphy responded to condemn the actions.

"Animal abuse has no home in New Jersey. Abma's Farm is a pillar of the Bergen County community, and we will fully support them and local law enforcement to hold the perpetrators accountable," he said on Twitter.

Now, seven people, including six minors, have been charged with trespassing, criminal mischief and overloading animals, according to Wyckoff Police.

Three 17-year-old males and one 18-year-old male from Wyckoff are charges, as are three 17-year-old girls from Oradell.

Names of the individuals involved were not included in the department's news release.
