Alleged Robber Entered Franklin Lakes Bank Wednesday, Police Say

A man wearing a ski mask and 'medical glove' allegedly entered the bank, but left without taking anything, police said.

FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. — A man allegedly tried to rob the Chase Bank on Franklin Lakes Road Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

The bank reported at 3:25 p.m. that an "unknown person" had attempted to rob the bank, police said.

A man wearing what appeared to be a mask, black jeans, and a medical glove, said Detective Lt. John Bakelaar. The man ran into the bank, looked around, and, after seeing that the tellers were behind security glass, left the bank, the lieutenant said.

The man was described as white and approximately 6 feet tall, Bakelaar said.

The Wyckoff police and the Bergen County sheriff's departments assisted with in the investigation.
