WYCKOFF, NJ — After a long summer, it's back to school on Tuesday for Wyckoff students.
The first day of school will be a minimum day with early afternoon dismissal, according to the school calendar.
This year, students across the state will have to adjust to a new state law prohibiting them from having their phones in class.
Wyckoff's school calendar was adopted back in December. It's here.
The first day off will be Sept. 21, a Friday, for the Jewish day of atonement, Yom Kippur.
Another important holiday, Rosh Hashana, begins at sundown on Sept. 11, a Friday, so students will not have off that day.
Right now, students will be off on Nov. 5 and 6 for the annual teachers' union convention, and have a minimum day on Nov. 25, the day before Thanksgiving.
