BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — There are more people living past age 100 than ever before, and the number is expected to quadruple over 30 years, researchers say.
One of Bergen County's centenarians passed away on Thursday.
Margaret Breen, 103, was born in Wyckoff but spent most of her life in Midland Park, her obituary says.
According to her obit, she had three children, seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren, and two great great great grandchildren. Her husband William died in 2003.
She was born before the start of both World Wars.
Who Is The Country's Oldest Person?
Currently, the country's oldest person is Naomi Whitehead, age 116. She lives in Greenville, Pa., and had a birthday three weeks ago, says USA Today.
The previous oldest person, Elizabeth Francis of Houston, died a year ago at 115.
Pew Research says there are approximately 101,000 Americans age 100 and over. That number may quadruple in the next 30 years, they say.
