Anti-Litter Program Recognized

Environmental commission receives ANJEC award

The Wyckoff Environmental Commission recently was recognized by the Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions for its Team Up to Tidy Up program.

Commission chairman Brian Bigler and Township Committee member David Connolly, liaison to the commission, attended an ANJEC conference at Cook College on Oct. 17 where the township commission was honored. Specifically, Team Up to Tidy Up sponsored a student logo contest where youngsters vied to create the logo that would be used for this year's event. T-shirts printed with the award-winning logo were distributed to the first 250 citizen participants. Additionally, the Wyckoff Environmental Commission, with assistance from the Wyckoff Chamber of Commerce, provided gift checks to the grand prize winner and the winning submission in each age category.

Team Up to Tidy Up promotes anti-litter awareness and respect for the environment. Each year, approximately 250 residents participate in the cleanup activities.
