Audi Stolen From Wyckoff Driveway After Keys Left Inside: Police
This isn't the first time residents in North Jersey have reported a car theft, or belongings stolen, after their vehicle was left unlocked.
WYCKOFF, NJ — An Audi was stolen from a West Stevens Avenue driveway on Oct. 20, Wyckoff Police reported in their latest blotter.
According to police, the owner of the car said the car had been left unlocked with the keys inside when the car was stolen during the evening of Oct. 19.
Police said security video showed the suspects entering or attempting to enter "several" other vehicles in the neighborhood before making off with the Audi.

The car was discovered in Newark on Oct. 29, and had sustained damage to the brakes and suspension.
Wyckoff Police offered this to residents in the area: "Residents are once again reminded to lock your car doors and remove the keys from them. This is a crime that can easily be prevented."

Police in New Jersey have been issuing this message for a while now, according to a recent Patch report.
Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal and the Office of the Insurance Fraud Prosecutor (OIFP) launched the "Lock It or Lose It" public awareness campaign aimed at discouraging New Jerseyans from leaving their cars unlocked with the key fob inside earlier this month.
"Lock It or Lose It" is perhaps illustrative enough of what can happen when leaving your car unlocked with the keys inside. (Though one could argue the point doesn't need illustrating.)
