Average Wyckoff Tax Bill Could Increase $7

The slight increase is due to a $19.5 million municipal budget, which was introduced earlier this month.

WYCKOFF, NJ — The average homeowner's municipal property tax bill could increase less than $8 this year.

The Township Committee introduced a $19.5 million budget for 2107. The budget is below the state-mandated 2 percent increase cap and about $750,000 more than the 2016 budget. The $19.5 million includes the Wyckoff Public Library's budget.

The budget includes appropriations for road resurfacing, replacing Department of Public Works equipment, having a new roof put on Firehouse No. 1, and purchasing protective gear and breathing apparatuses for firefighters.

No changes in township-provided services are planned and officials held flat on standard operating expenses, authorities said in a statement.

The township's portion is about 14 percent of a property owner's total tax bill.
