Only .16 cents of every property tax dollar collected goes to the town, which includes the library. Forty-six cents goes to the Wyckoff Public School District and .24 cents goes to the Ramapo-Indian Hills Regional High School District. The rest goes to the county.
The town is seeking several grants to help offset property tax increases, including an open space grant from the county. Other grants will allow the town to upgrade and renovate recreational facilities and roads, which could not be otherwise.
Officials are also working on replacing old township equipment with surplus equipment from the United States government.
