Bergen County Man Faces Sexual Assault Of A Minor Charge

A Bergenfield man faces charges of sexual assault and child endangerment, the county prosecutor said.

BERGENFIELD, NJ — A Bergen County roofing contractor faces charges of sexual assault and child endangerment after a short investigation, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office announced.

Victor Chitay, of Bergenfield, was arrested on Monday and faces four total counts of sexual assault and one count of child endangerment.

On Nov. 29, the Bergenfield Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office regarding the sexual assault of a child younger than 13.

An investigation was initiated by the Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Bergenfield Police Department, which found that the victim was sexually assaulted by Chitay on more than one occasion.

He was transported to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court.
