Bergen County To Pay Workers $15 An Hour
County and union leaders will discuss how the county was able to implement the change Tuesday afternoon.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Bergen County is the first county in New Jersey to implement a $15 minimum wage for its full-time employees.
County and union officials will discuss why and how the change was implemented at a press conference Tuesday afternoon.
The issue of a $15 minimum wage in New Jersey has been discussed by state legislators since Phil Murphy was elected governor, officials said.

Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, the Freeholder Board, Joe Gautier, president of the United Services Workers Union Local 755, and Analilia Mejia, director of the New Jersey Working Families Alliance, will discuss how the county was able to implement the change and "why the state must follow suit," officials said.
