Bergen Man Creates Anti-Ashley Madison Dating Service

Gary Spivak is the founder of FidelityDating, com, a website geared to helping single people who have been cheated on find someone faithful.

PARAMUS, NJ - A Bergen County man has started an online dating service to help people who have been cheated on find a faithful partner.

Gary Spivak is a Paramus native and was betrayed by someone he was in a relationship with and his business partner’s husband got married to another woman behind her back. He started Fidelitydating.com to help people who have been cheated on find someone who will be faithful and honest with them.

“Someone who has experienced being cheating on won’t cheat, or they’re a lot less likely to cheat on someone,” Spivak said. “We attract users who are looking for a faithful partner.”

The website runs counter to what websites like Ashley Madison preach: Encouraging people to have an affair or hookup.

“’There’s been stats that show up to 40 percent of the people on Match.com are already in serious relationshps or married,” Spivak, 46, said. “There are thousands of sites like Ashley Madison’s out there.”

The site is free to use, but a paid model will be introduced soon, Spivak said.

The recent release of Ashley Madison users’ information and subsequent fallout means people are also being more cautious when it comes to using that site and others like it, Spivak said.

Fidelitydaitng.com allows users to set the criteria by which they are matched with other users, including: Age, religion, education, residence, and vocation, among others. The site does not incorporate a personality test like eHarmony.com does.

Spivak said he wants the site to be a tool people who have been cheated on to use to start trusting others again.

“If you put two people together and they understand what they’ve gone through, or know people who have, they’ll be much more likely to take things slow and will be more apt to trust the other person,” Spivak said.
