Bergen Man Dies Following Holmdel Go-Kart Accident: Police
Boris Serebrenik, 60, died after crashing the go-kart into a tree Sunday night, police said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — An Edgewater man died after he crashed a go-kart into a tree Sunday night, police said.
Boris Serebrenik, 60, died after police arrived at a Holmdel home just after 8 p.m. on a report of a go-kart accident, the Holmdel Township Police Department said in a press release.
Police found Serebrenik on the front lawn of a Grandview Drive home, police said. He was not breathing and had a severe head injury, they said.

Two nurses there performed CPR on Serebrenik. Paramedics and Holmdel First Aid Squad members also attempted to save Serebrenik's life, but failed. He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, police said.
There was a birthday party at the home and guests were taking turns using the go-kart, including Serebrenik, who crashed it into a tree, police said.

The gas-powered go-kart was small and did not have seat belts and Serebrenik was not wearing a helmet when riding it, police said.
