Bergen Man Dies Following Tractor-Trailer Crash: Police
Anthony Echeverry, 28, of Bergenfield, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A county man was killed after the van he was driving hit the side of a tractor-trailer in Mendham Wednesday night, police said.
Anthony Echeverry, 28, of Bergenfield, was pronounced dead at the scene of the Route 24 crash, Mendham Township Police Chief Ross Johnson said.
Police and fire personnel responded to the scene at 7:50 p.m. Police said the van Echeverry was driving west on Route 24 hit the side of a tractor-trailer that was carrying raw sewage. The tractor-trailer was turning off of Roxiticus Road when the crash occurred, Johnson said.

The driver of the tractor-trailer sustained no serious injuries and none of the sewage leaking out of the trailer, Johnson said.
Authorities are still investigating the crash.

Johnson expressed his sympathy to Echeverry's family.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the Echeverry family during this tough time," Johnson said.
