Bergen Mom Said 12 Times That Ex-Boyfriend Was 'Gonna Kill Me': Report
A friend of Suzanne Bardzel said the mother of two who was stabbed to death last week by her former boyfriend feared for her life.

Suzanne Bardzell feared for her life before she was allegedly stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend so much she allegedly told her friend 12 times in the last week ”he’s gonna kill me,” according to a report by The Record.
Bardzell’s friend John Albicocco said in the report that he repeatedly tried to convince Bardzell to leave Lomando, but that he really didn’t think “he would blow up like he said,” the report said.
Arthur J. Lomando is accused of stabbing the 48-year-old Bardzell, a special education teacher in Teaneck, to death outside her Midland Park home with a machete-like knife Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

Lomando jumped in front of a subway car in New York City in an apparent suicide attempt hours later, police said. He was taken to a hospital in Harlem where both legs were amputated in an attempt to save his life.

Albicocco also said in the report that Lomando cheated on Bardzell ”often” and that the couple would make up and that Bardzell tried to get Lomando to love her.
Albicocco said the Lomando made Bardzell laugh and that she was charmed by him, the report said.
But there was another side to Lomando and the relationship.
Lomando’s mother, Jeannette, said Friday that her son had been dealing with depression “for some time,” and had seen therapists and psychologists for help dealing with it and Lomando’s father said the couple ”fought like cats and dogs,” Newsday reported.

Bardzell took out a restraining order against Lomando Oct. 8, which he allegedly violated four times the next day, Midland Park Police Chief Michael Powderley said in an NJ.com report. The restraining order was the result of several domestic violence incidents. Police were assigned to watch the residence.
Lomando was fired form his job as a New York City police officer in 2004 after several misconduct issues and mental health issues were documented.
