Dear Wyckoff Residents,
We are writing to share our enthusiasm for Carla Pappalardo for Wyckoff Township Committee.
Our family is not the “typical” Wyckoff Family; we are a married couple with 2 adopted black sons. The lack of diversity in Wyckoff has always been a concern for us, especially as our kids get older and become more aware of skin color and the difference in the makeup of our family as compared to their friends’ families.

In the summer of 2017, we worked with a grassroots group to ask the Township Committee to place rainbow ribbons on the light posts around Town Hall during Pride Month. We wanted to show young LGBTQ people and allies that Wyckoff is a welcoming town. The Committee was supportive with the sole exception of Tom Madigan, who argued against the “politically-motivated” motion and abstained from voting. Fortunately, the proposal passed.
During that meeting, Carla sat next to us in support of the ribbons – and in support of tolerance and inclusion.

We ask this of our Wyckoff neighbors. Do we want to continue to have a member of Township Committee who is unwilling to back all families who live here? Or do we want someone who is inclusive and welcoming of all residents? We choose the latter, and that’s Carla Pappalardo.
Sincerely,
Lisa Eidel and Kelly Haggerty
