Several Cars Stolen, Burglarized From Franklin Lakes Homes: Police

2 cars, including a 2017 Jaguar, and 8 vehicles were entered overnight Saturday, police said. A laptop was taken from one of them.

FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ — Two cars were stolen and eight more burglarized overnight Saturday into Sunday, police announced.

A 2017 Jaguar was stolen out of a Ginger Lane resident's driveway and a 2012 Toyota was stolen from an Ashmont Road resident's property, said Capt. John Bakelaar.

A laptop and a cell phone were stolen out of a vehicle parked on Navajo Trail Drive, Bakelaar said. The vehicle belonged to a Hamburg resident.

Six vehicles on Scioto Drive, four at one home and two at another, Bakelaar said. Nothing appears to have been taken from any of them, he said.

A Sterling Drive resident reported that a car key was taken from a car at an Olentangy Road home, Bakelaar said.

Police received reports of the burglarized vehicles from 8:21 a.m. and 1:36 p.m. Sunday.

Police have previously reminded residents to lock their doors and remove all valuables, including keys and key fobs, from them.
