Christian Health Care Center Celebrates its Centenarians

Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff recently celebrated its centenarians at a special party

Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff recently celebrated its centenarians at a special party honoring residents who will be 100 years of age or older this year. In attendance was Wyckoff Mayor Kevin Rooney, as well as several CHCC staff, families, and friends. Mayor Rooney greeted each centenarian and presented a special letter of recognition. Everyone enjoyed birthday cake, getting to know a little bit about our celebrants, and sharing memories. Six residents were honored, including 100-year old Zenobia “Gladys” Almodovar, 100-year old Elizabeth Rigoloso, 101-year old Stefania Chudy, 103-year old Dorothy Kearns, and 107-year old Susie Rothwell.

Mrs. Rothwell is the oldest client to participate the oldest client to participate in Christian Health Care Adult Day Services of Wyckoff. A longtime former resident of Passaic, Mrs. Rothwell currently lives in Hawthorne with her son, John Rothwell. The mother of 10 children, four sons and six daughters, she also has 26 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

“Susie is an inspiration,” said MJ Paulison, Christian Health Care Adult Day Services of Wyckoff Assistant Administrator/Activities Director and resident of Hawthorne. “She has seen so much and experienced so much throughout her life, and her attitude is one of gratitude and faith. She shows us every day how important faith, love, and humor are for a long and meaningful life.”
