Christian Health Care Center Employee Honored as Facility Manager of the Year

Hank Schuurman, CHC, CHSP, CHFM, SASHE, Facilities Management Vice President at Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff and a resident of Hawthorne, was recently honored by the Healthcare Facilities Management Society of New Jersey (HFMSNJ) Inc. with the prestigious 2016 Facility Manager of the Year Award. Founded in 1949, HFMSNJ is the professional organization of health-care facility managers of New Jersey.

“Ever since becoming a member of the chapter in 2003, Hank has taken an active front-row role with the organization,” said Rajendra N. Shah, PE, MBA, CHC, BSME, CHFM, FASHE, HFMSNJ President. “Hank is credited for several accomplishments that he volunteered to lead and fulfilled. He successfully led the organization as President in 2013 and 2014. With his core character of a teacher and a leader, Hank has presented leadership educational topics, encouraged members to volunteer for different tasks, and mentored them for their professional-career development. He reestablished relations with the New Jersey Hospital Association leading election and nomination functions in 2016, developed an education roster to avoid duplication of topics, and started a charity program for pediatric cancer units.”

In addition to his role as CHCC Facilities Management Vice President, Mr. Schuurman also serves as President of the Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church Council in Wyckoff and a trustee of HFMSNJ.
