Christian Health Care Center Fifth Annual Beefsteak a Success!

Fundraising, football, and fellowship scored a touchdown at Christian Health Care Center

Fundraising, football, and fellowship scored a touchdown at Christian Health Care Center’s (CHCC) Fifth Annual Beefsteak. The football-themed event, recently held at The Brownstone in Paterson, raised nearly $42,000 for the 2017 Annual Fund to support CHCC’s mission. Close to 260 people attended the Beefsteak, including CHCC supporters, friends, vendors, board members, and staff.

“Christian Health Care Center’s mission is to foster health, healing, and wellness for people of all ages consistent with the Christian principles on which we were founded,” said Douglas A. Struyk, CPA, LNHA, CHCC President and CEO, to the attendees. “Our mission is possible with the help of every single person in this room, and so many others who were not able to join us this evening. Thank you for your steadfast support and commitment to our mission.”

A major attraction of the event – a silent auction – was also a success! Guests bid on nearly 60 baskets. Auction items included an overflowing Disney Christmas basket, FitBit, 40” HDTV, Google Home voice-activated assistant, cordless Bluetooth headphones, gift certificates to local restaurants and stores, and home decorating, beauty, and culinary baskets.

Proceeds from the 2015 and 2016 Beefsteaks went toward the renovation and refurbishing The Longview Assisted Living Residence. Longview residents will benefit from a new Village Café, salon, rehab/wellness area, Private Dining room, expanded Great Room, and new furniture, fixtures, and equipment throughout lounges and public areas. In the Courtyard, Longview’s residence for individuals in the early and mid-stages of dementia, two new semi-private rooms and a beauty salon are being created, and the activity room expanded.

“Monies raised through the CHCC Foundation are poured right back into the mission of CHCC,” Mr. Struyk said. “With your steadfast support, we’ve been able to renovate, enhance, and expand so many areas and programs.”
