Christian Health Care Center Welcomes New Vice President/Administrator of Mental Health Services

Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff recently welcomed Rebecca Dauerman, BSN, MSN, APN.

Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff recently welcomed Rebecca Dauerman, BSN, MSN, APN, as its new Vice President/Administrator of Mental Health Services. In her new position, Mrs. Dauerman’s goal is to carry on the 105-year tradition of providing compassionate care, while continuing to integrate new and enhanced treatment modalities to maximize positive outcomes.

“Mental-health care has made tremendous strides since the Center was founded in 1911,” Mrs. Dauerman said. “Increased knowledge and ongoing research have resulted in more precise diagnoses and effective treatment. That’s encouraging news for the nearly 58 million Americans who suffer from a mental illness.”

Mrs. Dauerman brings a wealth of experience to her role at CHCC, where nearly 55,000 days of care were provided to approximately 3,900 individuals with mental disorders who were treated in CHCC’s inpatient and outpatient programs in 2015. Previously, she served as the Manager of Behavioral Health at Morristown Medical Center and Administrative Director of St. Clare’s Behavioral Health Services.

“We have an exceptionally strong interdisciplinary team which strives to provide the most effective, individualized treatment in the most safe and therapeutic environment,” Mrs. Dauerman said.

The team includes psychiatrists, psychologists, mental-health nurses, social workers, counselors, therapists, activity therapists, dietitians, and pastoral-care chaplains. Treatment at CHCC is rooted in the mission. Here, a person’s faith can be utilized, strengthened, and nourished as an aid in care. This unique aspect of mental-health services is an important part of an interdisciplinary model of total quality care. The patient is involved in his/her treatment planning, and the team considers the influence of religious and spiritual well-being on overall physical and mental health.
