Drunk Woman At MetLife Concert Stole EMS SUV, Crashed It: Police

A drunk woman at the Hot 97 Summer Jam concert Sunday stole an emergency services vehicle, drove it, and crashed into a taxi, State Police said.

Kiara Giles, 27, of New York City, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, assault by auto, and receiving stolen property, said State Police Trooper Alejandro Goez.

Giles got into an emergency services SUV and drove it a short distance before crashing it into a Ford Escape taxi on West Peripheral Road at about 8:20 p.m., Goez said.

The vehicle was marked "emergency services," but was not an ambulance, Goez said.

Police are investigating whether or not the emergency services vehicle was left running, Goez said.

Giles and the taxi driver were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, he said.
