DWI Driver Assaults Good Samaritan In Wyckoff Road Rage Incident: Police
Jermaine S. Kerr, 32, was charged with aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

WYCKOFF, NJ — A drunk driver rammed his car into a good Samaritan's vehicle who stopped to keep him from beating a woman, police said.
Jermaine S. Kerr, 32, of Paterson, told the Samaritan he was going to get a gun from his car and kill him for intervening in the incident, said Lt. Joseph Soto. The incident happened on West Main Street just after 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Kerr rammed his car into the other man's vehicle; a juvenile passenger was inside the vehicle, Soto said.

When police responded to the scene they found the two men fighting, Soto said.
Kerr was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, making terroristic threats, child endangerment and disorderly conduct, Soto said. He was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, careless driving, reckless driving, refusal to submit breath samples, consumption of an alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle and possession of an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle.

Kerr was processed and taken to the Bergen County Jail, the lieutenant said.
