Erratic Driver Arrested On DWI Charge: Police

Police received several calls regarding the man driving through the center of town Tuesday.

A North Haledon man was arrested Tuesday after police received several calls of a car that was traveling erratically through the center of town, police said.

Police received several calls at 12:25 p.m. from residents of an erratic driver heading through the center of town, said Wyckoff police Chief Benjamin Fox. The number of calls received allowed police to track the vehicle’s route and stopped it on Crescent Avenue and authorities stopped the car.

The driver, Christopher J. DeFina, 33, was charged with driving while intoxicated under the influence of heroin, possession of narcotics in a motor vehicle, possession of heroin, possession of syringes, and possession of narcotics paraphernalia, Fox said.
