Barnert Temple Preschool and Family Center is holding an open house on May 27 and accepting applications for “Me & My Sprout Shabbat” class, a Shabbat social experience for toddlers and their caregivers. This class is available for all children ages 12 – 24 months with their parents or caregivers and meets every Friday from 9 to 10:15 am. Classes begin on Friday, September 16, 2011 and run through May 2012.
According to Sara Losch, Barnert Temple’s Director of Lifelong Learning, “It can be isolating to be home with a toddler,” she commented. “We want to bring people together and offer them a chance to meet other parents, grandparents and caregivers in a relaxed social setting while they experience the joy of Shabbat. The children learn through play and have all of their senses stimulated, while adults meet, share ideas and concerns and learn about the development of their children. There is time for gross motor play either outside on our beautiful playground or inside using cars and tricycles. We will bake fresh challah bread, sing songs, and work on a craft together. It is the perfect way to spend a Friday morning with your little one.”
