The developer, the Christian Health Care Center, requires Zoning Board approval for 13 or more variances from Wyckoff building code. Beginning in December 2010, CHCC's witnesses testified in support of the project. In December 2011, SAVE Wyckoff presented their 1st witness, a fire-fighting expert who testified to the challenges such a large apartment building could present to any volunteer fire department. He stated that the need to evacuate residents requires 1 or 2 firefighters per resident. Mr. Struyck, CHCC's CEO, stated that Wyckoff's volunteer ambulance corp will serve The Vista's ambulance needs.
