Founded in 1806, three years before Edgar Allan Poe's birth, the Wyckoff Reformed Church is a local historical landmark that is remarkable to tour. Many Civil War soldiers lay buried in its graveyard, and the church's early history mirrors the country's in intriguing ways. Those fortunate enough to attend this walking tour through the graveyard, crypt and sanctuary led by the Wyckoff Historical Society will get a lesson in local and national history, and something more: Walking amongst them and reading from his works so eerily suited to these surroundings will be the man they call The Raven himself! Preregistration required.
