Family Of Dog Killed By Cop Adopts New German Shepherd
Vukobratovic family adopts a dog after Otto, their 5-year-old German Shepherd was killed by a Wyckoff police officer in April.

In what could be considered a happy ending given the circumstances, the Vukobratovic family has adopted another dog following the death of their German shepherd.
The family recently adopted a 14-month-old German shepherd named Sivie. Otto, the family’s old dog, died after he was shot twice by Wyckoff Police Officer Kyle Ferreira during a botched burglary investigation on Lawlins Road April 29. Police said the dog jumped out of an open window and bit Ferreira on his foot, latching onto it. Ferreira responded by firing his gun four times, hitting the dog twice. The dog had to be put down at an animal hospital later on that night. Ferreira was exonerated of any wrongdoing following an internal investigation.
“She’s great, we love her,” said Igor Vukobratovic of the silver and black dog, “she’s a little different than Otto. She’s very playful. She wants to play all the time.”

“It’s been great coming home and having someone who wants to play and spend time with you everyday,” Vukobratovic said. “She’s been helping a lot with keeping our minds off of everything.”
