I've been active politically since I was 15 (I'm now 71) in Dallas, the hotbed of racist right-wing activity with the John Birch Society and other racist, anti-Semitic groups. At that young age I decided to fight against these people. I handed out JFK buttons, then went to Tulane U. in New Orleans where I was Vice President of Young Democrats and majored in political science. I got to meet privately with LBJ for my work on the 1964 campaign. I went to Columbia Graduate Faculties where I received an MA in constitutional law, then to law school where I earned a J.D. I continued my political activism, writing candidates' speeches, and even ran for boro council in USR in 2000. I am a published author, but prefer to be politically active locally. I don't know anyone locally who is Democratic or Progressive since my husband had been allied with the GOP from the 1970s. He passed away in August, 2016 and now I would like to go back to my Democratic roots. I will show up in Wyckoff tomorrow to march and hope to meet some of you.
