FLOW Relay for Life to Host Annual Kickoff Event

The free event will take place on Thursday, January 18th in the Ramapo High School cafeteria at 6:30 p.m.

The FLOW (Franklin Lakes, Oakland and Wyckoff) Relay for Life club is holding its annual kickoff event on Thursday, January 18th in the Ramapo High School cafeteria at 6:30 p.m. The kickoff event represents the beginning of the fundraising period leading up to the FLOW-area walk-a-thon in May. Relay for Life is an annual series of walk-a-thons held worldwide to help raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society in their fight against cancer.

Guest speakers at the kickoff event will include cancer survivors Tanya Kurtz and Josh Cohen, as well as student caregiver Tierney Brennan. The event will also feature a free buffet with food donated from various businesses in the FLOW area, including Stop and Shop, Pizzeria Mandara, Blue Moon, and Starbucks. Local jewelry company Knots and Arrows will be selling bracelets, with all profits being donated to the FLOW Relay for Life event. Community members can help raise additional funds by participating in games, all while the Ferrer brothers provide great music! Entry to the kickoff event is free and is open to all members of the community.
