Franklin Lakes' Borough Council Introduces Amended Smoking Ban

Franklin Lakes’ Borough Council has introduced an amended smoking ban that would make even more public areas smoke-free.
The amended ban would prohibit smoking in playgrounds, public parks and ball fields publicly owned or leased by Franklin Lakes, NorthJersey.com reported. The current ban does not allow smoking within a 35-foot radius of municipal buildings’ front entrances.
The new amended ban would also mean all areas around the facilities, such as parking areas or driveways, would be smoke-free, according to NorthJersey.com. There will be a public hearing Dec. 16.
