FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ — The Archdiocese of Newark announced Thursday that all cemetery and mausoleum offices are officially open, including Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes.

In a news release, the Archdiocese said that due to the flattening of the COVID-19 curve, Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Newark will allow visitors inside all affiliated offices, appointment or otherwise.

These updated visitation regulations began as of Wednesday.

According to the release, appointments are still "appreciated", but not needed for families looking to arrange cemetery services during normal business hours.

"Allowing families to visit and have full access to our offices helps to ease the stress of this important decision-making process while caring for loved ones," said Executive Director of Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Neward Andrew Schafer.
