Franklin Lakes Home Burglarized Saturday Night: Police

A basement door was forced open and closets and bedrooms were rifled through, police said.

FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ — A Haven Road home was burglarized Saturday night, police said.

Sometime between 6:30 p.m. and midnight Sunday, entry was made into the home by forcing open a basement door, said Capt. John Bakelaar.

The homeowner came home to find that closets and bedrooms on the first floor had been rifled through and items strewn on the floor, Bakelaar said.

The homeowner is preparing a list of items that were stolen, Bakelaar said.

Franklin Lakes Police officers investigated the burglary.

The Bergen County Sheriff's Department Bureau of Criminal Investigations processed the scene for evidence.
