Franklin Lakes Man Seriously Injured In Motorcycle Accident

Woman who collided with him was driving with a suspended license, police said.

WYCKOFF, NJ - A Franklin Lakes man was seriously injured and required surgery following a crash on Main Street Wednesday, police said.

Michael J. Spafford was driving a motorcycle on Main Street near Clinton Avenue when a 2003 Honda driven by Gloria A. Carranza-Cruz made a left turned in front of him, said Chief Benjamin C. Fox.

Spafford, 51, collided with the car. He was taken to the hospital with a broken leg and underwent surgery later that day, Fox said.

Carranza-Cruz, 25, was charged with failure to have a valid license, driving while her driving privileges are revoked, failure to yield the right of way when making a left turn, and causing a motor vehicle crash when driving with a revoked license.
