Mayor Bivona Visits School for Read Across America

Franklin Lakes celebrates Dr. Seuss's legacy with national reading program.

The children of Franklin Lakes enjoyed a visit from Franklin Lakes Mayor Frank Bivona during the annual Read Across America event. The national event is intended not only to celebrate and honor acclaimed children's author Theodor Seuss Geisel — more commonly known as Dr. Seuss — but also to encourage children to keep reading and learning.

Seuss’ creative, rhyming books have been read to children by U.S. presidents, hall of fame baseball players, celebrities and by millions of moms and dads.

Mayor Bivona, donned the signature Cat in the Hat headwear and read to a class of students at High Mountain Road School.
