Armed Man Robbed Codeine Cough Syrup From Franklin Lakes Pharmacy
A man jumped over the counter, pointed a gun in the pharmacist's face, and demanded the cough syrup, police said.
FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ — A township pharmacy was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night, police said.
Police responded to the hold-up alarm at the pharmacy at the Shop & Shop store on Franklin Avenue just before 9 p.m., said Capt. John Bakelaar.
A man jumped over the pharmacy counter, pointed a semi-automatic gun in the pharmacist's face, and demanded cough syrup with Codeine, Bakelaar said. The pharmacist gave the man the cough syrup and he left the store, heading toward Franklin Avenue.

The man is described as white, in his early 20s, with light-colored hair, and of medium height, and build, Bakelaar said. He was wearing a gold and blue flannel coat with a blue hooded sweatshirt underneath, blue jeans, and white sneakers.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Franklin Lakes Police Detective Bureau at 201-891-3131.
