Franklin Lakes Police Arrest Arkansas Man With Gun

FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ — Police arrested an Arkansas man after finding a handgun in his car during a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon.

Police stopped a vehicle on Interstate 287 at 4:19 p.m. and found a .380 semi-automatic handgun inside, said Capt. John Bakelaar. The gun was not loaded, he said.

Harold Chavous, 33, of Amity, Arkansas was arrested and charged with illegal possession of a handgun, Bakelaar said.
