Franklin Lakes Police Charge Several With Drug Possession

One person was charged with illegal possession of codeine and possession of marijuana, police said.

FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. — Police charged several people with drug possession recently.

  • A result of a motor vehicle stop on Colonial Road Friday morning, Kathryn Rosa, 52, of Paterson, was charged with possession of marijuana, speeding, failure to wear seatbelt, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, and having an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle, Capt. John Bakelaar.
  • Two Paterson residents, Esperanza Ferminpena, 35, and Raudy Chalas, 44, were charged Friday afternoon after a motor vehicle stop, Bakelaar said. Ferminpena was charged with illegal possession of codeine and possession of marijuana, Bakelaar said. Chalas was held on an outstanding warrant out of Paterson.
  • As a result of a motor vehicle stop Friday afternoon, Corina Blair, 27, of Ringwood, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia, Bakelaar said.
  • A Mahwah man was charged with possession of marijuana early Saturday morning after a motor vehicle stop on Franklin Avenue, Bakelaar said. Jack Scavone, 20, was charged with possession of marijuana, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, the captain said.
  • As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 208, a 16-year-old juvenile from Glen Rock was detained for possession of marijuana, police said. The case will be forwarded to the Bergen County Juvenile Court.
