Wild was in a car accident in May 2016 while he was working. He told hospital staff that he had a prescription for medical marijuana, according to the report.

Wild provided proof of his prescription to his employer, Feeney Funeral Home and was forced to undergo a drug test and was fired for violating the business' drug and alcohol policy, the suit states, according to the report.

Wild claims in the suit that his medical marijuana use did not affect his job performance, the report said.

Wild claims the funeral home's employees and agents told members of the Bergen County Funeral Director's Association that Wild had been fired for being a "drug addict," according to the report.
