Employee Arrested After Bringing Gun To Franklin Lakes Workplace: Police

BREAKING: A co-worker found found the gun in the desk of a Daman Associates employee, police said.

FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. — A man was arrested after he brought a 9mm handgun to work in Franklin Lakes, police said.

An employee of Daman Associates reported finding the gun in his co-worker's desk at 10:40 p.m., said Capt. John Bakelaar. Daman Associates is an insurance agency on High Mountain Road.

After investigating, police arrested Orlando Gonzalez, 45, of North Bergen, the captain said. Gonzalez was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun.

Sgt. Donald Wilson, detectives Robert Grassi and Jon Rynander and Officer Michael Pellegrino conducted the investigation.

No further information regarding why Gonzalez had the gun at his workplace was released by authorities.
