Health Aide Charged With Stealing $20K In Property From Bergen County Homes
Mariela Del Rosario, 30, allegedly stole jewelry, a laptop and credit cards from two homes last year.

FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ — A home health aide was arrested Wednesday after police investigated the theft of $20,000 in property from two township homes last year.
Mariela Del Rosario, 30, of Garfield, was charged with the theft of a laptop, jewelry and credit cards from a Courter Road residence that were reported missing Aug. 18, said Capt. John Bakelaar.
Rosario was also charged with the theft of jewelry from a Meadow Land residence that was reported on Sept. 11, Bakelaar said.

Rosario was employed as as home health aide at both residences, the captain said.
Rosario was arrested at her Garfield home Wednesday morning and remanded to the Bergen County Jail, Bakelaar said.

In related news, a nanny with a long criminal history is accused of stealing $100,000 in jewelry from a sick Mahwah resident she was working for, police said.
