I Support Carla Pappalardo
A true fiscal conservative for our Wyckoff Township Committee

Wyckoff Friends and Neighbors:
In 2017, I worked with 30 concerned Wyckoff voters on the Fair Vote for Wyckoff Mayor petition to explore an alternate way to select our mayor. Traditionally, the mayor has been chosen by the Township Committee, not by Wyckoff residents. Our goal was to give voters the opportunity to weigh in on this critical issue at the polls. Approximately 1,000 Wyckoff voters supported this initiative and signed the petition; but when it was presented to the Township Committee for inclusion on the ballot, only Brian Scanlan supported that inclusion. The matter is still open.
I believe that if Carla Pappalardo is elected to the Township Committee in November, she will help move this important issue forward. She is committed to government transparency and opening doors to Town Hall for every Wyckoff resident. With her legal experience in arbitration and mediation, she will provide quality leadership as well as pragmatic and creative thinking. What’s more, she will respond to the many voices in Wyckoff asking to be heard, including on the mayoral vote issue.

I’m a Republican, but I think party affiliation matters little at the local level. I believe Carla Pappalardo is the best choice for Wyckoff Township Committee. She will certainly be a more positive force than Tom Madigan, who has resisted the Fair Vote for Wyckoff Mayor referendum at every turn. I hope Wyckoff residents will join me in supporting Carla on November 6th.
Thank you. Steve Joern
