'Large Amount' Of Jewelry Taken From Burglarized Franklin Lakes Home: Police
$4,100 was also stolen from an unlocked pickup, police said.

FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ — A borough resident returned from vacation to discover that his home had been burglarized and a "large amount" of jewelry had been taken, police said.
The man returned home Monday and reported to police that his home had been burglarized and the jewelry stolen, said Capt. John Bakelaar.
There were other reports of burglaries in the borough recently.

A Haven Road resident reported that someone entered his unlocked pickup and took $4,100 in cash, a laptop, and various forms of identification, including a passport, Bakelaar said. All of the items, except for the cash, were found on a neighbor's lawn, police said.
A Highwoods Drive resident shortly after 3:45 a.m. reported that someone stolen her 2016 Jeep from her driveway, police said. A key fob had been left in the vehicle, Bakelaar said.

Police remind residents to remove all keys and key fobs from vehicles, and to lock them overnight.
