Bergen 5-Year-Old Sexually Assaulted; Morris County Man Arrested: Prosecutor
A Morris County man has been charged in connection with the reported assault of a child under 13 years of age in Bergen County.
LYNDHURST, NJ — A Morris County man has been charged in connection with the assault of 5-year-old girl in Bergen County.
Amid Bhatt, 42, of Denville was arrested Tuesday. Bhatt, an accountant, has been charged with second-degree sexual assault and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
The victim was acquainted with Bhatt and called him "Uncle Mark," court documents say.

The alleged assault took place in December in a car outside a Lyndhurst restaurant. Bhatt took the victim to get pizza and bought her two gifts that day, documents show.
Lyndhurst Police contacted Musella's office Jan. 11 to investigate the reported sexual assault, and investigators identified Bhatt as a suspect, according to a news release.

Bhatt was arrested Tuesday in Parisppany. He was taken to Bergen County Jail and will have a first court appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, Musella's office said.
